If you struggle with Gastritis, IBS symptoms, or other inflammatory bowel disorders, this blend would make a great post-dinner tea. The first ingredient of this tea is Yarrow. Yarrow is an herb that contains flavonoids and alkaloids. Combined, these components help with gut inflammation and act as a probiotic to nourish the gut microbiome. Peppermint was used traditionally to aid all areas of the digestive tract. It is a carminative and anti-spasmodic which means it may soothe the stomach, expel gas, and may help with cramping experienced with IBS. Chickweed is one of a few mucilaginous herbs in this blend. It may potentially aid in the breakdown of fats. Some bitters like orange peel and burdock root have been added to help with indigestion. Ginger contains gingerol which is a component that may help speed up digestion which decreases gas and bloating. Licorice Root and Slippery Elm are additional mucosals that help absorb acid and soothe the stomach and intestines.
As always, if you need this blend altered or if you need licorice removed because you are on blood pressure medication, I can do that for you. Feel free to reach out with any other questions.
